Round 5 of the British Superbike Championship arrives at Mallory Park this weekend.

After a four week siesta, albeit with the Isle of Man TT, the frantic pace of BSB kicks back into life at this historic Leicestershire speed bowl. With a 55 second lap and the notorious hairpin section, Mallory Park always delivers close paint swapping racing!

For the Motorpoint Yamaha team there is a new name in the line up – Andrew Pitt, the double World Supersport Champion. He jumps straight into the lions den at Mallory Park but is relishing the challenge.

Says Andrew Pitt: “This is a really exciting time for both Rob and me. We have both had a tough season and are passionate about getting back on track. The BSB is a world-class series with a world-class pace - you only have to look at the leader board in WSB to see that!

“I have had a few tests at Mallory Park and I have a better feeling about the bike now. I know the pace will be hot but I love getting into the battle and working hard. Let’s hope this will be the turning point for the Motorpoint team and myself.”

Dan Linfoot comes to Mallory Park after the summer lay off more focused and fitter than ever. The last round at Cadwell saw Dan run in the top six and he is looking to build on that with the support of Andrew.

Adds Dan Linfoot: “It’s been a long time since we last raced and I am ready and raring to get back to work. The arrival of Andrew Pitt is a real coup for our team. We needed some experience since Neil’s retirement and hopefully Andrew can fix that.”

Says Team Manager Rob Mac: “Mallory Park promises to be a great weekend for the team. It’s not going to be easy but we have something to look forward to now with Andrew joining the team, bringing with him a wealth of experience, which I am sure will prove hugely beneficial to Dan.

“Our intention from day one was always to have a young gun with an experienced team leader. Unfortunately, Neil’s early departure left the team with young Dan on his own, which wasn’t ideal.

“Andrew has had to learn the tracks (as well as the bike) very quickly but he is an old pro and seems to be really enjoying himself. At Mallory Park you have to be ready for the unexpected because with three chicanes and a hairpin it is always going to be manic! Let’s hope he has his boxing gloves packed as he’s going to need them this weekend.”
